Ultimate List of Pink and Blue Party Food Ideas

I never in a million years thought I would have twins, but man has it been so much fun! Although, I will say, having boy/girl twins can make things hard to plan or decorate for.
I wanted to make my twin's first birthday party so classy and memorable! I thought what better way to celebrate their first year of life than all things pink and blue?!?
So I got creative and designed a pink and blue themed party. Everything on the girls table being pink with hot air balloon accents, and everything on the boys table being blue with vintage airplane accents!
The two tables were on either side of a large DIY back drop that I made. I then put two wooden high chairs in the middle of the back drop with balloons tied to them. With the high chairs being in the center, the twins were able to eat and enjoy their smash cakes all while everyone was still making trips to the food and drink tables.
So let's get started with all things on the pink table!
Pink Party Food:
Pink chocolate dipped Rice Krispie treats (I cut each Rice Krispie treat in half before dipping)
Mini Marshmallows in Pink Dessert Cups (huge hit with the kids - if you don't want to order dessert cups, you can usually find solid pink ones at Walmart)
Pink chocolate dipped pretzels using almond bark or candy melts
Chex Mix with Pink and White Sixlets - may use M&Ms instead
Pink and White Cupcake Marshmallows on cake pop sticks
Peanut butter & strawberry jelly sandwiches cut into triangles
Vanilla cupcakes + pink icing + cupcake toppers (ordered from Etsy to go with party theme) in tulip cupcake liners
Vanilla triple layer cake + pink icing + cake topper
Pink Lemonade in a drink dispenser
Now on to the blue party table!
Blue Party Food:
Blue chocolate dipped Rice Krispie treats (I cut each Rice Krispie treat in half before dipping)
Mini Marshmallows in small blue dessert cups (kids loved these - you can order fancy ones, or just pick up some plain blue ones...I found some at Walmart)
Blueberry fruit skewers
Blue tortilla chips with queso blanco dip
Hawaiian bread ham and cheese sliders in a blue serving tray (party favorite for sure) - recipe included with free printable
Blue and white cupcake marshmallows on cake pop sticks
Vanilla cupcakes + blue buttercream icing + cupcake topper (ordered from Etsy to go with party theme) in tulip cupcake liners
Vanilla triple layer cake + blue buttercream icing + cake topper
Party Decor Ideas:
Kids coloring table - plastic tablecloth on a low table, coloring page, colors + juice boxes
Back drop - 2 king size flat sheets sewn together with decor sewn on
Party Hats
Pink triangle banners cut from card stock + hole punch two holes at the top. String with jute line and hang where desired.
Blue triangle banners cut from card stock + hole punch two holes at the top. String with jute line and hang where desired.

MAXIMIZE YOUR BUDGET
I'm pretty thrifty and always trying to think of ways to cut costs, especially when planning a party! Here's some things I did for this party to minimize the amount of money spent.
Money Saving Tips:
- Make DIY triangle banners out of card stock (see decor list above)
- Make a backdrop out of cheap king size sheets
- Paint a large piece of wood with chalk paint for the party sign
- Print your monthly milestone pictures from 0-12 months, or maternity pictures, at Walgreens and display them on jute string using mini clothespins
- Grab a couple wooden decorative storage bins from your house and turn them upside down to place the cake stand on top. This really adds some multi level perspective to your food table.
- Grab cheap table cloths at the dollar store
- Find a coloring page you like that goes with the theme of the party and make copies on your printer for the kids table
- Find pink and blue plastic serving trays at the dollar store and Walmart
It really is amazing how many things you can use from the decor in your household to make a statement at a party!
