6 DAILY HABITS TO TIDY YOUR HOUSE IN 20 MINUTES OR LESS!

When we neglect tidying up the home for a few days, it can be so overwhelming and time consuming to catch back up! Here are 6 tips to tidy your house that will take 20 minutes or less each evening to ensure that your house stays tidy throughout the week.

HELPFUL TIP: Perform these tasks before sitting down to enjoy a TV show or check your social media accounts!

I find that if I sit down to relax, I am way less likely to get up and take the 20 minutes to tidy up the house before heading to bed for the night. When this happens, I always regret it the next morning when I am rushed, and the house seems cluttered.

Some of the links included below are Amazon affiliate links, meaning, I will earn a commission if you click through and make a purchase at no additional cost to you. I only recommend products that I use and love!

1. 5 MINUTE CLEAN UP BEFORE BED

This can be for kids and adults. Kids do a 5 minute sweep through to pick up their toys before bed, adults do a 5 minute clean up of the items used throughout the day.Set a 5 minute timer and stop when the timer rings.

2. WASH A LOAD OF CLOTHES

Throw a load of clothes to wash when you get home!Nothing irritates me more than when I forget to put the clothes on until late in the evening, and I end up having to wait up to put them in the dryer so we can all have clean uniforms the following day.

3. LOAD THE DISHWASHER OR DO DISHES AFTER DINNER

I do my very best to keep up with the dishes throughout the evening so I am not left with a pile of dirty dishes at bedtime.I find that rinsing dishes and loading the dishwasher as I go helps me stay on top of the dish situation in the kitchen.

4. SWIFFER (OR SWEEP) THE COMMON AREAS EVERY OTHER DAY

It’s amazing how fast floors can get dirty, especially if your floors don’t hide dirt very well or your baby loves to eat every little speck of dirt they can find! :)I Swiffer the floors on one night, and on the other night I wipe bathroom counters & empty bathroom trash cans.

5. WIPE BATHROOM COUNTERS & EMPTY TRASH CANS EVERY OTHER DAY

Keep Clorox Wipes under the sink in each bathroom to perform a quick wipedown of the counter and sink before going to bed!Related post: 5 Easy Kid's Bathroom Organization Tips

6. HAVE A “HOME” FOR ITEMS USED FOR SCHOOL, WORK & PLAY

Assign a designated spot for backpacks, lunchboxes, briefcases, etc…Form positive habits of staying organized, and avoiding the craziness of looking for items in the morning on your way out of the house.Need an organizer for your entryway?
