Dad and Baby Nursery Photo Shoot
Dad and Baby Nursery Photo Shoot
This DIY Dad and baby nursery photo shoot was so much fun! I'm no photographer, but I figured with a nice camera and lots of natural light we could go for an impromptu photo shoot with our newborn!
I started by pulling back the curtains and opening all the blinds to expose as much natural light as possible. Next, I turned a space heater on in the nursery to promote a comfortable and relaxing space for the baby. I chose a simple light blue onesie to complement the natural theme of the photo shoot, and the navy blue area rug in the nursery.Search for the best area of natural light in your nursery that casts minimal or no shadows. The navy blue area rug in our nursery made for a great background. You could also lay out a large blanket for a similar look. My husband loves playing guitar so we decided to snap a shot with something he's passionate about! Grab an object your hubby loves and snap a picture of him and the baby with the item. This will be a photo you can surely cherish for years to come. Urijah is in a diaper in the above picture, but bloomers could always be used. We considered doing a bare bottom shot for this photo, but decided we didn't want to chance an accident on the guitar. I found this adorable white blanket at Marshall's for $19.99. It made the perfect simple background for our nursery photo shoot. Be sure to capture the precious facial expressions your little one makes. I spent a little time taking these pictures in order to get a few different expressions, as well as capturing one of him sleeping. Again, the white blanket backdrop made for a simple background that, in my opinion, really pops the colors in the picture.
If you are relaxed and patient, I know you will be able to capture great pictures of your little one that you will cherish for years to come.
The nursery photo shoot turned out to be a great way for daddy and baby to bond! It can sometimes be hard for the father to transition into life with a newborn, especially in the moments that he feels helpless when you are in pain from recovery or trying to get the little one to latch on for breastfeeding. This photo shoot allowed my hubby to feel honored to be the father of our little boy! And let's be honest, I wasn't up for being in a photo shoot a few weeks postpartum!I'm so excited to see the photos of your baby and daddy nursery photo shoot!I would love for you to share this post, or pin for later! You can find The Berry Basics on Pinterest and Facebook, or via email at theberrybasics@gmail.comCheck out my DIY Whale Themed Bib Holder tutorial here.-Courtney Berry
