Easter Egg Bird's Nest Cookies & Cupcakes
These Easter egg bird's nest cookies and cupcakes make for a great treat to bring to family gatherings.
The bird's nest treats can be made with cookies, cupcakes or both. I chose both in order to have a variety for the kids at our Easter celebration!

I used pre baked sugar cookies and vanilla cupcakes for this recipe, but you can definitely substitute chocolate chip cookies or funfetti cupcakes for your bird nest decorations.
A staple in my kitchen when making desserts is the OXO good grips decorating kit! It always comes in handy and I run it through the dishwasher on the top shelf after each use.

Easter Egg Bird's Nest Cookies & Cupcakes
Ingredients
- 1 dozen already baked sugar cookies (chocolate chip cookies could be substituted here)
- 1 dozen already baked vanilla cupcakes (Funfetti cupcakes could be substituted here)
- 1/2 package of almond bark chocolate
- 1 tub of milk chocolate icing
- 1 tub of vanilla icing
- Icing decorating kit (I have OXO good grips decorating kit and used the star shaped tip)
- 1 package of mini Cadbury eggs - any variety (I chose dark chocolate - may substitute Robin eggs if desired)
Instructions
- Shave the chocolate almond bark to be the filling for the bird's nests. I used a cheese grater to save time, but a knife can be used as well.
- I combined the tubs of milk chocolate and vanilla icing to make a lighter brown shade of color for the bird's nests.
- Fill the icing decorator up.
- Using a star shaped decorating tip, I formed a line of icing around the edge of the cookies and cupcakes to frame the bird's nest. (For large cookies, make two lines of icing around the edge)
- Fill the inside of the icing nests with the chocolate almond bark shavings.
- Place three Cadbury eggs in each nest.
- Enjoy!
Notes:
If you only have an icing decorating tip, cut a small triangle out of the corner of a Ziploc bag. From the inside of the bag, push the tip through the small opening and fill the bag with icing. You can also do this without a decorating tip by pushing the icing through the small hole cut in the corner of the Ziploc bag.
